What is godmodding?

Godmodding is any action that a character does that is in some way impossible for them to do. A good list of godmodding actions would include:
- Controlling other player's characters without permission. (See later question)
- Automatic revivals from deaths.
- Moves/Abilities that kill in one use. (Or are highly over powered and unfair to others.)
- Moves/abilities that make your character far too powerful. (For example, a Megaman X character lifting a skyscraper... if you have a move that lets you do that, then your godmodding.)
- Also, metagaming is a sort of godmodding. That is, if you use knowledge from outside the game inside the game. Say for example, you (as the player) knew a character had a weakness to lead... But no one's characters were to know, the only way the player knows this fact is because the role-play creator said when they introduced the character that this character had this weakness. But now if your character magically just so happens to produce a lead bullet and use it, then that is metagaming. (Though it's not metagaming if your character has from the start always used the lead bullets and you made mention of this fact several times before.

Why can’t I (without explicit permission) control other characters?

For several reasons…
1. Because some people may hate it when others control their characters, and they may get offended if your not controlling their character they way they would in the current situation. (And it’s their character so they would know better than you would.)
2. It’s godmodding as well and so it’s against the rules.

Why can't I say <attack> hits and <character> (for example) goes flying ?

For the same reason you CANNOT control other's characters. It's annoying for others, because they can't do anything to stop it. (Caveat, you can do this to boss characters I create because you can control them too.) But otherwise you cannot do this to any other player's character.
Guaranteed hits are godmodding, likewise with repeated guaranteed dodges. That's not saying all attacks have to hit, but neither will all attacks miss, you pick and choose some to hit and others to miss depending on where you are and what is going on.

What is/are the term(s) <x> mean ?

Here are some of the terms you may encounter:
- OOC – Out of Character, basically when your not controlling your character you mark this before you make any comments so people know that your not using your character. It helps by breaking up posts and making them easier to read, as well as offers distinctions in the text.
- IN (or IC): In context (or In Character), this is when you’re controlling your character. You should always mark this before you post in character, and you should also always mark it after your done with an OOC section and want to resume controlling a character. (But be sure to separate it some to make it easy to read.)
- One liner – any post that is shorter than one line of text. Can either be one line of all OOC, or one line of IN, or even a single/part line of both. This should be avoided though…

No all OOC posts in the story topic, what is up with that?

Quite frankly, I'm trying something to cut down the amount of all ooc posts and make it easier to read the story sections. (Because I do find it annoying to have 4-5 all ooc posts strung together blocking the story bits out. This is especially relevant when people don’t bother to read back to find out what is going on as it is.)
But it doesn't mean you can't have ooc in your posts, it just means I don't want to see posts that are only ooc in the story topic.

Can I do Player vs. player?

Yes, you can within a limit... But now if it comes to light that you aren't reading your opponents posts or if you are godmodding (and the other players complain about it...) then it may be decided that you cannot participate in any PvP situations. If excessive enough, it may be decided that you may also not be allowed to use any other's characters that you may have had permission to.

How high will my stats get?

This depends on the Roleplay in question.

For Attention Rookies: Zero-
Everyone starts at 40 and they don't get any stronger throughout the series.

For Attention Rookies 1-
Everyone starts off with a total of 20 for this stats and by the end of the game their stats will reach 40.

Why 40? I selected it as an optimal number based on the original idea that 8 stats with a standard of 5 in each of them made 40. But with this stat system there are only 7 stats, so it means that people have some more leeway for specialization without having to cut back too much in some areas.

For Chaos Advent -
There was no set limit.

Why did I have to ask to change my equipment?

This information is no longer relevant due to the change in character profile set ups. Each person is responsible for managing their own character(s) now...

With the condition that if they try to sneak game breaking changes in (be it the stats, weapons or new powers ), there will either be in character consequences and/or their profile will be locked and they will have to PM me to ask for changes.
