Deadliest Warrior Tournament 2012

So while Deadliest Warrior the tv show may be in limbo (it's not been renewed for a 4th season) our Deadliest Warrior tournament is back again. Not a whole lot has changed since last year.

The premise is simple, you nominate warriors you want to see fight. (Though please, try to avoid nominating all the same ones we had last year.) Team battles return again (more on this below).

Nominations
To nominate your warrior(s) you can reply here/PM Me either with their name (and I'll figure out their weapons and all that) or fill out this:

If you elect to fill out their weapons, only give 1 or 2 per level to keep things more balanced.
If a character exists in multiple mediums, it is a good idea to specify which of them you mean if you want a specific version (since there are often variations between the mediums. EX- Iron Man in the comics has over 30 armours where in the movies he has 7.)

Team Battles

Team nominations are roughly the same as the individual warriors in that the same form is used for each member of the team if you want to specify their individual weapons/skills. (Though this year you can use warriors in the team that have already been nominated individually.)
The 4 people per team from last year worked well so we'll continue that. Though when nominating a team this year, you must list the 4 members you want to see in the team.
Teams though must be recognised teams from their respective medium(s), like the Avengers/Justice League. (So no fan-created dream teams.)

You can nominate any number of individuals or teams you like.

The nomination deadline is May 28th 2012 at 11:59PM GMT-5.

Post-Nomination

After all the entries are received I'll sort them into these categories...
- Futuristic (Laser based weapons)
- Modern (Gunpowder based weapons)
- Past (limited use of black powder, but mainly swords.)
- Fantasy (Super powers or magic.)
- Gods (not necessarily Gods, but just the ultra powerful characters.)

And then I'll pair them up with an opponent to fight it out (again using randomly generated number pairs). I'll perform an analysis of the warriors weapons and put it to you guys to vote/discuss. I can't say how many rounds there will be for now. (It'll depend largely on how many entries are received.)

When a match is posted, people can discuss it for the duration of the tournament. The last match though will only be open to discussion for 1 week since the date of posting.

Well since X, Zero and Sigma got used last time I thought maybe we should let their mavericks and rivals battle it out. Except Magma Dragoon is the only maverick I want to nominate at this time, and since he's really just a Street Fighter tribute I'm okay if he sits it out. I would like to nominate Colonel, Double, Vile and Dynamo however, see how far they get.

For the superhero category I nominate Gambit, Storm, Emma Frost, Nightcrawler, Black Cat, Pyro, Shocker, Scorpion and Dr. Doom.

For the god category I nominate Apocalypse and Dormammu.



I'll try to come up with some more, but I'm having trouble selecting anyone we haven't already used that hasn't already been in Screw Attack's Death Battle.

Vile want to go toe to toe with me on giant robots of awesome!? Unfortunately no Big O this time ,but I want to nominate Gurren Laguun and possibly another old favorite of mine Gundam Sandrock Kai.

You know it dissappoints me for the modern character class Solid Snake had no other to go toe to toe with him so someone must go against him because he doesn't deserve that title because he got a freebie. I want to nominate Leon S. Kennedy or The Punisher.

For the Robot class I want to nominate High Max, Casshern and Kikaider.

Thats all I have for the most part, and as a side note Virus there is difference between Sandrock and Sandrock Kai.

Hell yeah I'll join you in a Giant Robot fight!
So if you have Guurren Laggen, a gundam of dues ex machina, I also have to bust on out. Burning Gundam. And if your bringing in another gundam, I might as well venture out a bit....... the Lancalot Flight type from Code Geass. Oh no wait, a BALL! YES! BEAT THAT! My worker unit will prove victorious!

Also, I think each of our Avenger couterparts should be in this, and I think we should each choose the weapons and such. Dibs on Cap.

I also just want to nominate some Sengoku Basara people, but I don't feel they would have enough arsenal to make a full deal out of.

I think they would... I've played Sengoku Basara 3 and most of the playable characters have a distinct feel to them with atleast 6 moves at one time.
4 basic attacks (performed by Triangle, Direction+Triangle, R1, L1+Triangle) plus 1 of 3 Special Art (R2) and finally their unique Basara art (Circle).

Feel free to nominate people that have been in Death Battle too since the pairings for the fights here probably won't match up the same.

The ball is evil! I am well aware of what that thing can do. Hmm so we have the ball? I have no counter for it because that thing just kills anything it stares at.
You will understand why the ball should be feared. Good choice man because I can't think of anything that would trample that thing. There is one unit i wanna see fight though I want to bring in AMX-004 Qubeley Mk II.

The Qubely is a good unit. Kinda lame, but yeah. Oh oh, lets get out of UC here and bring in something else, like Tallgeese III! Though, I do want to enter the Rx-78-6 Mudrock. Its my favorite.

So much potential for interesting bouts. I can't really think of much else to add I want to add the Virgo unit from Gundam Wing and there is a few other robots like. Oh I know Voltron defender of the universe! Yeah! I am out of giant robot fights....

Nomination period has ended. Looks like we've got a great turn out of giant robots... I'm going to need a bit more info about the ball though since I know nothing about it. (Perhaps some links to info about it?)

Beyond that I'll sort the characters into their classes and begin the matchmaking process later today.
