In the last few years we've seen a relatively new trend for movies. While it has been the case for movies to have multiple parts or continue in a sequel. (Either a thematic sequel that carries the name but doesn't continue the exact story, or a true sequel which continues a protagonist/antagonist's quest.) But to my knowledge we've never really seen a story interwoven across multiple movies all in the same universe. (Bearing in mind my film history knowledge is not super strong or perfect in any way so I may be wrong here...)
But with the Avengers movie, this is exactly what is happening in the build up towards it. Starting with Iron Man, we've seen Hulk (the 2008 remake, not the 2003 movie), Thor and Captain America all funnel into it. So then the question becomes, will this work? Do you think the movie will succeed? Will this become the new standard for superhero movies? Will it branch out and be used for other, possibly even non-superhero, movies? (Or could it?) Does it worry you to have all the narratives/movies connected in this fashion?
