So this is nothing new, gender swaps have been around for some time. But we've never really talked about it.

For those who might not have heard the term, a gender swap is when an character from a known source like Capcom, Nintendo or Square-Enix gets redrawn as the opposite gender. EX- This

So then, how do you feel about it? Like it? Hate it? Think it's all in good fun?

Gender swapping is more for a fun moment unless you are of those people who can't have fun with it...

No no kidding, for the most part I never found gender swapping a bad thing as its more of a joking concept and something artists do like I said to joke or have the gender opposite universe idea. Still its fun to do I have only gender swapped once in my drawing study ,but its more for my own personnel enjoyment as its something I don't like sharing often. No nothing typical males with no braincells do just something I'd hang on my wall right next to probably one of the best X in his ultimate armor pictures I've seen done by a fan.

For the most part the only thing I disliked with this idea is how most artists who genderswap make the picture more skimpy if anything when comes to gender swap generally you keep the outfits and personality of the character intact of course you have to modify said outfit to make it feel a female is in the outfit or manly depending on the gender swap of whom you chose to do this to. ,but often its just seems way too much at times. Granted I am no saint myself to what I have pallned ahead...

Personally, I think some of the genderswaps by fans are really well done. They look like it could well have been official game art or concept art. (There are some that look pretty bad too and those tend to be fairly horrible.)

But for the good ones, it makes me wonder how the games/tv show etc... would have been different if that character were indeed born the swapped gender.

For Mega Man, created as Mega Woman, would Wily have acted different towards her? EX- he would have grossly underestimated her the first time and sent only like 4 robot masters... But once those were beat he got extra pissed because they were beat by a girl so he sent an extra 4 or so to deal with Mega Woman the next time?

@Virus - considering how ignored Roll was in the early years its a safe bet that Megawoman wouldn't have been taken seriously. Those were the good old days remember, before women's rights.

I don't have any problem with gender swapping, its just more art for the character/series imo. And people are always going to reimagine characters or do alternate universe depiction and whatnot.

I enjoy the gender swaps. MegaWoman has always been an interesting think to look up. As well, Rockman Zero as a woman always looked badass.

I'm against genderswapping if the fan who did it is a nutjob of some sort. If they're just doing it for shits and giggles, then I'm not going to care and more power to them, if they did it for shipping or for their personal fanon and force that view on others, I'm against it.

I do agree with the What if Mega Man was Mega Woman instead though, that would be interesting.

I think they can be interesting and sometimes even cooler than the actual character's gender; I remember seeing one a few months ago and thought it was really cool.
