Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype could see the light of day...if you support an album Apr 21, 2012 by RawmeatCowboy The following blurb pertains to Reika Morishita, the woman behind the Rockman DASH theme songs. She's going to be reprising her role on the tracks, but it seems that the sales of this 'album' could mean big things for Mega Man Legends 3.
"To support our community, she is going to release her Mega Man Legends soundtrack reprisals at the end of May or early July, tentatively. During the meeting yesterday, she said that if her new soundtrack makes over 20,000 sales, Capcom Japan is likely to release the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version on the e-shop. Although there are no guarantees, keep in mind she is a well-networked individual."
It's not a gaurantee by any means, but it's the most positive thing we've heard about Mega Man Legends 3 in a long time. Having that prototype hit the eShop would be great, and of course, it gives me hope for the future of the Legends series in general!
If it meant getting Legends 3 would you buy this album? Or do you feel this is only a desperate cash grab to try to cash in on the hopes that fans will buy anything to try to get Legends 3?
On a similar note, should fans buy the album if it will mean the game's demo will get released? Bear in mind that it is only the demo getting released not even the full game. (So basically you'd be paying for the chance to get the demo... Not even a guarantee, just a chance. )
The way I understand it the demo is already complete, there is no reason not to release it and imo, no better way to gauge interest in the full game. I see this as nothing more than an attempt by Capcom to get more of our money and then continue to troll us.
I'd never buy an album of an unreleased game anyway, how do I know I'll even like the tracks?
I hate Capcom so much, this is worse than what OCRemix did with Maverick Rising and Facebook likes.
Since I am a follower of 100,000 strong I kinda knew about this already what the implications are about this idea. For the most part I do see problems and some pluses thought the most minor pluses ,but I am only 1 fan and therefore I do not voice much into it other than alright you guys and gals do what you want I know I wouldn't be able to afford for this anyways.
I do like music ,but with no game to support a sound track it has little meaning to me even if it was good music even if was to support for the prototype or demo of it. My support is more based more to see megaman be around more so than merch. I am not saying Reika is terrible for it nor am I saying I don't want Legends 3. I am saying that yes this could seem like a scham to some to others will see it as support towards. To me I am in the middle on this one I can't say anymore than will see what happens ,but be prepared for any outcome even the most beneficial or the most damaging.
I think I am ready for any outcome because it is obvious what card is being played. Sorry if I can't fully voice my opinion on the matter its is because I am attached to the legends series as a whole and you know as much as I say I am ready for any outcome I can't handle another dissappointment at least the little kid inside me can't handle another blow to one of his most cherished treasures of his youth.

I'm with you Jet, I think this is far worse than what OCR did (and the whole like campaign was enough to get me to unfollow them on youtube. And I haven't been back to OCR since Maverick Rising released. The whole thing just left a bad impression to me and is something that I think OCR handled really poorly. ) This however, is much worse. We're talking about actually charging for a product now. And they're saying that if enough albums get sold they might release the prototype? Which has been sitting on a hard drive complete for months already. Some have already even played it...
That is just plain out pathetic. Releasing the prototype would only garner good things for them. It'd be the greatest way to find out the extent of the interest (through the download numbers) and it'd have the side benefit of getting people talking and anxious to spend hard earned money on the game. You know, if Capcom were actually still interested in the whole making money thing and not just pissing off every fan they had.
Like Jet mentioned, I don't know if I'd even like her music so why would I plunk down money for it if I'm not sure?
Also, I don't think it'd be easy to buy the CD either since they probably aren't going to sell it outside of Japan... and import costs can be huge. Which is just another reason I wouldn't be buying it. (I don't really have the money to be spending on things like that.)
HERPA DERP I am Capcom let's sell a CD to guage interest into Legends 3. Hey guys this is totally genius. (Insert Awesome face here)To be honest I rather see 100,000 Strong and reach the 100,000 mark before merch shows up like this. I am gonna say this is where we try to get buttered up quite a bit.
There is no proof that buying this would even lead to anything except the artist getting more money and capcom lining their pockets a bit more with ill-gotten gains. (Which would really be like stealing in this case. The only reason they'd even get a dime is because they own the rights to Megaman.)
Perhaps it is time for Capcom to sell the rights to Megaman... like mentioned here
